AUL FUTSAL CUP FINAL: Blue Magic 6-4 Real Transylvania (Magic win the cup 2-0 on rubbers in best-of-three format)
Gormanston College was the venue for the AUL Futsal Cup final between Blue Magic and Real Transylvania last evening.  The final is played on a best-of-three basis and with Magic winning the first rubber last week in nail-biting fashion 6-5, a win for Magic last evening would see them lift the cup.

At the end of minute one Magic went in front when an Ian Byrne rasper was parried into Kaique Dos Santos' path and he stuck it away.  Seven later it was 2-0 when Victor Calderon's effort was defleceted to the net by Mattheus Leonardes.

Calderon made it 3-0 as they went in for the break and the cup was within touching distance for Magic.
Real responded well however and, from a kick-in Benos fed Raymond Daniel thumped it to the net in the third minute of the second period.  Three later again however Magic restored the three-goal advantage when, from a corner Calderon found Gabriel Saldanha in space and he fired home.

Blue Magic’s Victor Calderon moves in to challenge Thiago Camote of Real Transilvania.

Just into the final quarter Gabriel Sauzo-Santos picked a pocket and found Benos who made it 4-2.  Then, probably the goal of the game as Oleg Gojan looped a corner and Gabriel Micoski fired a volley to the net from a fair distance to make it 5-2.
Real refused to lie down however and with 5 left on the clock Benos finished off a decent team move to make it 5-3.  Another Calderon corner shortly after however, put it to bed as he found Andrei Ribeiro who made it 6-3.
There were only 7 seconds remaining when Real went with a fly-keeper but Camote did manage to score to make the final 6-4.  Blue Magic 2-0 in rubbers then and they are 2023 AUL Futsal Cup winners.  The two meet again in the FAI Futsal final where a UEFA Champions League spot is at stake.
