Job Description (Part Time)

 

The Director of Football (Girls) is responsible for all football matters for the DDSL, including the coordination and support of all of the under-age teams under the DDSL including development and representative teams as the board decide.

You will have full input into the League’s annual plan in terms of football matters.  The formal reporting line is to the Leagues Chairmen and appointed groups on behalf of the Board of the Directors. Salary is negotiable and dependant an experience of candidate.

 

The role of the Director of Football is to:

·         Implement the Leagues ‘Coaching & Player Development Programme as requested by the leagues and FAI’s strategy.

·         Manage, recruit and support all team coaches and volunteers who support football activities

·         Implement Leagues policies and procedures as requested by the Board

·         Plan, co-ordinate, schedule and implement the league’s annual football events and assist in all events in the league.

·         Attend/report to the Board Meetings as requested and all League’s meetings where relevant.

·         Work with and support the LOM and league personnel in relation to all activities

·         Work with the LOM to ensure that the League Membership system is actively managed and implement a strategy to promote the League and to maintain and increase Participation

 

Planning

·         Plan and manage events and activities in relation to football.

·         Report to the Board of Directors on all events and activities taking place.

 

Football Performance

·         Take responsibility for all football matters for the League

·         Support Clubs, Team Managers and Coaches to find, recruit and develop players a Player ID model.

·         Support Manager/coach/Volunteer development and progression of same

·         Provide Manager/coach/Volunteer training as requested by the Board

·         Negotiate, assist, promote and implement football partnerships

·         Consult with key stakeholders/partners to maximise player development opportunity

·         Track player progress and create Club, parent, and team support etc.

·         Support and manage the coordination of all of the under-age teams

·         Communicate with POBAL and other funding bodies on all relevant matters associated with social funding.

 

Local Community

·         Assist the LOM to maximise facility usage through networking with community agencies.

·         Assist the LOM to identify and promote new events for the annual fundraising calendar

·         Create local partnerships through establishing & maintaining links with local community groups, local businesses, and youth organisations.

 

 

Child Protection

·         Ensure that all legal obligations enshrined in the National Vetting Bureau (Children and Vulnerable Persons) Act 2012 are implemented and records maintained for all staff and volunteers.

·         Ensure that the League has a Child Safeguarding Statement in place which is actively promoted on all media.

·         Take responsibility for full implementation and adherence to Childcare Act using Children’s First Guidelines

·         Ensure all staff members/volunteers dealing with children have been Garda Vetted as required

·         Implement child protection support training workshops for all coaches and maintain training records

 

Miscellaneous

·         Liaise with Clubs/ scouts/promoting players to UK clubs ,Scholarships, education etc.

·         Deal with all Clubs/Parents/Trials and assist all Parents/stakeholders in the best interests of the Player

·         Assist all DDSL teams, leaders in a recruitment/ID Talent System on an annual and ongoing basis.

·         Ensure that the membership system is actively managed and implement a strategy to promote the League and to maintain and increase membership

·         Take responsibility for full implementation and adherence to Childcare Act using Children’s First Guidelines and implement child protection support training workshops for all coaches.

 

·         All membership fees collected on time

·          membership maintained and increased during 2023

·         All legal obligations in relating to the Children and Vulnerable Persons Act 2012 implemented and records maintained for all staff and volunteers

 

Team and People

·         Manage the, team coaches and volunteers who support football activities

·         Place a strong emphasis on customer service, ensuring that all staff are aware of their responsibilities when representing the league

·         Assist the COO to maximise the facility usage through networking with community agencies and identify new events for the annual fundraising calendar

 

·         Dedicated team ethos evident throughout

·         Clear strategy implemented in relation to all football matters for the league

·         Clear objectives and responsibilities agreed with all stakeholders and feedback given on an ongoing basis
