The Irish Grassroots Landscape Football for All
In this episode we look at Football for All. A global FIFA initiative to promote teh expansion of football through providing access to various formats of the game. From Walking to Wheelchair footballFootball For All expands the reach into groups of people who benefit from playing with their peers. Other players who can now play the game and enjoy all the benefits associated with participation. In many of these there is also a pathway to International representation and competitions. Continually evolving these affiliations and groups lead by volunteers passionate about the game and their own communities struggle for funds and profile. Many of these groups offer their players a new focus and drive as they immerse themselves fully in a sport and social activity with their peers.
Episode 8 The Irish Grassroots Landscape
3rd Level, Schools, Defense Forces and Mini Football
In this penultimate episode we look at the three affiliates directly linked to the FAI. 3rd Level colleges & Universtities, Primary and Secondary Schools and Irish Defense Forces. Not directly linked but significant is the Mini Football Association which we also touch on. We do not have exact figures on these groups of players but they are significant. 3rd level football have the facilities, funding and organisation and connected globally. The FAI Schools program is arguably the most successful sports program in the country today. The Defense forces provides soldiers a route to international football as well as continued participation and incredible memories. Finally, the Mini Football Association and the many organiseations and facilities that house these 5, 6, 7 and 8 a side games are the reason most of us remain in touch or rekindle our love for the game as we progress through life.

In this final episode we discuss the problems and opportunities that lie within the Irish Grassroots Lansdcape -all all levels our game is short of facilities and diligent and committed volunteers must deal with the constantly evolving landscape, its rapid growth with committed and diligent volunteers. Income generation at grassroots level is the only route to a stable and progressive future. We suggest a program to help increase and improve the content creation, curation and distribution from team level which when structured correctly can lead to a growth in profile, exposure and online presense. Over time this can exhibit the professionalism and marketing opportunities for sponsors of all types that can now connect with grassroots content creators and ambassadors to generate new income streams that are deliver genuine ROI for all stake holders.
