Fowley and Harvey keep MCR out in front in Super League
In the Sligo Southern Hotel Super League from the top three, leaders MCR once again came out on top and still unbeaten after thirteen league games.
MCR entertained Strand Celtic at Sean Fallon Park Cranmore road. The first half was scoreless with neither side giving anything away.
Again, the second half was a cat and mouse affair until 11 minutes from time when Bradley Fowley opened the scoring for MCR with a peach of a goal.
Ciaran Harvey put MCR in a very safe position five minutes later when he rifled home goal number two and luckily, he did when Leo Doherty cracked home a superb goal for Strand Celtic in injury time but in the end, it was too little too late.
MCR are now on 39 points with the nearest challengers 13 points adrift, despite Carbury having two games in hand it stills leaves MCR a clear 7 points what a massive effort they are making to take major silverware.
Carbury were away to Manor Rangers at the Bee Park Manorhamilton and what shock they got here. Manor took the lead on 45 minutes courtesy of an own goal from Aaron Murrin.
The second half was a tigerish affair and on 75 minutes Philip Patton Manor Rangers and Aaron Murrin Carbury both received their second yellow cards and were dismissed. Manor went two goals up on 79 minutes when Josh Ritchie was on hand to find the back of the Carbury net.
It looked game over but like true champions Carbury never gave up the chase and scored twice inside a minute, Gary Finan 91 minutes Tyler Stallard 92 minutes for a remarkable fight back, but they still have a mountain to climb yet hope springs eternal. While the 2 red cards see’s both players automatically suspended for the next game.
Cliffoney Celtic hosted 3rd placed Cartron United at Mullaghmore. The hosts led by a goal to nil at the break courtesy of Jack Davitt Enda Mc Gowan levelled matters only for Jack Davitt to hit second goal on 25 minutes into the second half it was all Cliffoney and they seemed to have it wrapped until 8 minutes into extra time Donal Gallagher blasted home and a brilliant equaliser that keeps Cartron in the hunt but what a fright they got from a wonderful display by Cliffoney Celtic.
Coolaney Utd were at home to visitors Calry Bohs. Coolaney took the lead on 20 minutes thanks to a Ciaran Murray goal. Nine minutes later Brian Lynch replied for Calry leaving both sides level at the break.
Nine minutes into the second half and Stanley Harte hit the 2nd goal leaving Coolaney in the lead. Then with 21 minutes remaining on the clock Cian Oates hit the equaliser that insured Calry Bohs a share of the spoils.
Ballisodare United continue their recent good run with a superb win against Real Tubber by a score line of 2-1 at the Astro Ballisodare. Adam Grace struck oil after 4 minutes to put Ballisodare in command. Gary Anderson made that 2-0 with ten minutes to go to the break. Ciaran Gorman threw Real Tubber a lifeline 5 minutes from the break with a cracker of goal.
The second half had Real Tubber out with all guns blazing but their best efforts were thwarted with the Ballisodare rear-guard proving impenetrable and a brilliant all-round show by th Boys from Ballisodare seen them capture three great points.
St Johns FC in mid Table looked in great shape and proved just to strong for Arrow Harps at Mac Sharry Park on Saturday night. Matthew Conlon Oates hitting 2 goals aided and abetted with a goal each from Malachy Spratt and Conor Brennan. Luke Flynn scored the only goal for Arrow Harps score line finishing St Johns 4 – Arrow Harps 1.
