Cliffoney rise up in second-half to take points in Super League

In the Sligo Southern Hotel Super League Ballisodare 1-3 Cliffoney. Kevin O'Hara the Ballisodare stalwart with Ballisodare United goal after 44 minutes.

Cliffoney got three goals in the second half. Jack Davitt, James Herrity, and an Own Goal the scorers for Cliffoney.

 

Coolaney United were at home to Real Tubber and the only goal of the game came on 64 minutes Alan Duggan hit the back of the Real Tubber to gain 3 valuables points while Tubber seem to have hit a dry run.

 

In the Sligo Pallets Premier League Gurteen Celtic continue to dominate top position and so it continued hitting visitors Glenview Stars for 6 without reply as well as sharing the goals around. Billy Flynn, Thomas Sweeney, Dylan Walsh, Nathan Dwyer, Ross Donovan and Jamie Mc Coy all on target and still top of the Table Gurteen Celtic a force to be reckoned this season.

 

Chaffpool and Kilglass Enniscrone Utd locked horns in this 6-goal encounter. Eoin Carty cracking home a hat trick and Conor Prendergast putting the cherry on the cake for the Pool.

The seasiders replied with two superb goals one from Ronan Martin aided with the second goal from Brandon Fitzgerald.

 

A day for some high scores Dromahair a home to Calry Bohs reserves shared an 11 goals thriller with the visitors winning by the odd goal. Sean Foley opened Dromahair’s account on 18 minutes next up was Donnacha Devaney on 33 minutes, Calry hit back on 36 minutes with Paddy Heraughty netting his first goal then on 44 minutes Billy Mc Carthy levelled for Calry 2-2 at half time.

 

One minute into the second half and Shane Fowley had Dromahair in the lead then on 56 minutes it looked the points were staying in Dromahair when Jamie Cawley made it 4-2.

Calry had other ideas 56 minutes Cathal Fitzpatrick started the fight with Dario Williams netting on 64 and 66 minutes and Paddy Heraughty adding his second on 80 minutes both coming from kick kicks 6-4 to Calry and on 86 minutes Shane Fowley added his second and Dromahair’s 5th goal that finished off a brilliant game.

 

Leitrim side Carrick Town were at home to Ballygawley Celtic and they shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw. David Regan and Cormac Smith on target for the Town. Ballygawley responded with a goal each from Kyle Carty and Derek Lynch.

 

Strand Celtic Reserves took all 3 points at home to Valley Rovers Thomas Mulligan with 2 goals and Donnacha Beirne adding the third goal. Ciaran Jennings scored the only goal for the Valley.

 

In the Connacht Shield 2nd round Congratulations to Benbulben for defeating Loughrea Rams B at Mac Sharry Park on Saturday afternoon by 7-2 in the second round of the Connacht Shield Oisin Gilmartin with a hat trick, Evan Mc Donald and Fola Ayorinde each bagging scoring twice.

Monday night 30th Jan In the Rugantinos Boys U18 Calry Bohs and St Johns got together in this top of the table clash. Both sides were very evenly matched with the only goal of the game coming from the lethal boot of Jamie O Hara on 64 minutes. This result leaves Calry level on points but with an extra game played over league leaders Arrow Harps.

 

Tuesday Night 31stJan League leaders Arrow Harps fresh from their Titanic clash with Termonfeckin FC played on Sunday last were back on the domestic front tonight against Boyle Celtic. This on paper was a David and Goliath clash with Top versus 3rd from bottom but would the toll of two days earlier see the Harps drop their blistering style it was all to play for. Once again, it was Harps on the front foot winning this 6 – 2 and putting them 3 points clear at the top of the leader board 3 points ahead of nearest challengers Calry Bohs and one more win from the Riverstown Boys and they are Champions Harps Scorer hat trick for George Collins Daire Callaghan netting twice, and Daniel King netting a fine individual goal l while an own goal and a Conor Kelly completed the scoring for Boyle Celtic. Its looking very much like it might be coming home.

 

Wednesday night 1st Feb it was Dromore Villa in a tough encounter with Gurteen Celtic as the league tables suggested. Despite it was 1-1 at half time Adam Rolston for the Villa Eoghan Nerney for Gurteen Celtic. The Villa scored once more courtesy of Kyle Tiernan. Then the floodgates opened Ollie Nerney bagging a hat – trick aided and abetted with a goal each from Conor Walsh, Maitiu Lavin and Jack Dodd to leave Gurteen in 3rd place on the leader board and well in contention for silverware.

 

Thursday night 2nd Jan In the Rugantinos U18 Boys League Strand Celtic hit Benbulben for 4 goals without reply with a goal each from, Alfie Mc Dermott, Conor Mulligan, Oisin Hennessey and Thomas Lee. This result moves Strand Celtic move into 4th on the leader board while the young and talented Benbulben side will only improve.

 

 

In the Naturelles Hair Studio U18 Girls had a resounding victory winning 5-0 against Strand Celtic. Leading scorer Katie Mc Donagh had her shooting boots on claiming a superb hat trick and a goal apiece for Katie Gillen and Sophie Quinn puts Yeats united just one point league leaders Manor Rangers with the same number of goals scored what a race to the title.

 

Sunday 5th Jan. Big game for the Leitrim Ladies in the Naturelles Hair Studio U18 ladies League.  with Manor Rangers taken on the challenge of Ballymote Celtic ladies at Mac Sharry Park in an absolute cracker of a game in a 12 goal thriller. Ballymote Celtics Sarah Jane Loughlin with a hat trick Chantal Kielty and Shannon O Callaghan adding a goal each. However, Manor had their eyes fixed on been league leaders at close of business today 5 goals from the sharpshooter Megan Rooney a brilliant double from Eimer Keaney wrapping up the 3 points for a jubilant Manor Rangers Ladies U18 squad who lead the pack this weekend.
