Ballymurphy Celtic AFC 0, Burrin Celtic AFC 5,
Tuesday 28 March 2023 Ballymurphy
Burrin took all three points against a strangely lacklustre Ballymurphy. Burrin started on the front foot and had plenty of the ball and were playing nice football. They took the lead in the 15th minute through Bill Roberts after he got on the end of a good through ball and gave the keeper no chance from eight yards. Burrin continued to press hard and scored a second as an unmarked Bobby Finn headed in a Robbie Kelleher corner from 10 yards out. First half ended 0-2 to Burrin Celtic.
The second half continued in the same vein with Burrin pressing hard and keeping the home keeper busy. Burrin got a third goal through a super free kick from Bobby Finn 20 yards from goal. The home keeper produced several top class saves but Burrin scored a fourth as Bobby Finn finished well from 15 yards. Burrin wrapped up the scoring through Robbie Kelleher in the 53rd min. Bally pushed hard in the remaining mins but had no worthwhile efforts on goal. Game finished Ballymurphy Celtic 0-5 Burrin Celtic.
For Ballymurphy Oisin Fogarty was excellent also Jack Ivers and Charlie Foley played well,
For Burrin it would be unfair to pick anyone out as it was a fantastic team effort.

Hanover Harps AFC 1, New Oak Boys 2,
Tuesday 28 March 2023 The Plots (Hanover Harps)
Hanover Harps took on league leaders New Oak at home for a hotly contested game of football on a cool spring evening. A few short minutes after the first whistle the home side were first to score with Nathan Walsh scoring from a fantastic free kick which deflected off the crossbar and into the New Oak goal. Hanover were unlucky not to get a second goal in the half when another free kick taken by Charlie McHugh went just a couple of inches over the visitor’s crossbar. New Oak had their own chances in the first half and were unlucky not to score in the 20th minute with the ball ping-ponging at the front of the Hanover goal with the ball finally being booted over the crossbar. Half time score was 1-0 to Hanover Harps.
Both teams started off strong in the second half with though battles throughout the field. The visitors pushed hard and were rewarded on the 40th minute with their first goal. New Oaks second goal came about 5 minutes after from a corner that was tapped in. Hanover fought hard trying to score an equaliser and had some good opportunities that just did not go into the net. It was a disappointing result for Hanover to lose by the smallest of margins but they can be proud of the team performance. Final score 2-1 win to New Oak.
Best for Hanover were: Senan Sheehan, Nathan Walsh and Nathaniel Jakubiec.
New Oaks stand out players were Cormac Lowry & Oisin Rice.

Parkville United AFC 2, Nurney Villa AFC 1,
Wednesday 29 March 2023 Hawkins Lane, Tullow (Parkville United)
Parkville held out for a one goal win at home to Nurney in this competitive fixture. The hosts started brightly and created several half chances in the opening few minutes. The early pressure paid dividends with Parkville opening the scoring within the first 10 minutes. Kacper Futoma picked up a loose ball in midfield and found James Broughan in some space, his first time pass through the middle released Joe Leacy who fired home from the edge of the box. Parkville continued to press for the second goal with Liam Brennan and Daniel Malinowski a constant threat on the left hand side. It was no surprise then that the second goal started from some quick passing between Brennan and Malinowski, their hard work allowed Ryan Mulligan time on the ball to pick out John Nolan at centre forward. Nolan controlled the ball expertly and teed up Kacper Futoma just inside the box. Futoma placed his shot to the far corner giving the Nurney keeper no chance. Parkville, not satisfied with a two-goal lead, continued to press the visitors with Tadhg Dempsey coming close to adding a third goal only to be denied by a great save. As the half progressed Nurney began to play themselves into the game and came close to reducing the lead on a number of occasions. H/T Parkville United 2-0 Nurney Villa.
The second half was a tighter affair with both sides enjoying dominant spells. With less than 10 minutes remaining Nurney gave themselves a lifeline courtesy of a fine finish by Fin Lawlor. This goal lifted Nurney who finished the game strongly with Oliver Hughes and Declan Kearney in particular testing the Parkville defence. Parkville held their nerve to see out the game and secure the three points with a 2-1 win.
Best for Nurney on the day were Oliver Hughes, Declan Kearney and Andrew Farrell.

Ballymurphy came out in the second half and pressed for an equaliser only for Conor O'Gorman to deny them. The second goal came shortly after with Michael Lyons setting Quigley away to finish and make it 2-0. Crettyard United AFC 2, St Fiacc’s AFC 1,
Wednesday 29 March 2023 Crettyard United
Crettyard and St Fiacc's played one of the games of the season this evening. The game was end to end from start to finish and some excellent soccer on show. Crettyard had the opening chances but St Fiacc's defended stoutly. Then they almost caught Crettyard on the break but for excellent defending from Crettyard themselves. Then just on halftime Crettyard finally broke the deadlock when Adam Rowan delivered a ball into Eoin Dowling and he put it away smartly. Crettyard 1-0 ahead at the break.
The second half was end to end again and Fiacc's were really causing problems for Crettyard, but they weathered it well and went 2-0 up when Eoin Dowling scored his second with the cross coming from Dan Curran. This didn't stop St Fiacc's though and when Dylan Doyle crossed in a perfect ball Felipe stuck it in the back of the net to set up a great final 5 minutes. Crettyard defended so well with Harry Gorman, Sean Knowles and Darragh Curran working strongly and held on for the win. Final score Crettyard 2-1 St Fiacc’s.

Pats had a few long-range shots. But the first half remained scoreless.
In the second half Parkville started strong with some great passing and broke the deadlock with a great cross for a 1-0 lead. Burrin Celtic AFC 5, Parkville United AFC 0,
Saturday 1st April 2023 The Valley, Ballon (Burrin Celtic)
Burrin Celtic proved too strong for visiting Parkville on a blustery day at The Valley. As with a lot of the underage games, a good start, bringing early momentum, is all important and despite Parkville looking threatening in the first 10 minutes Robbie Kelleher’s long range opener settled the home team down. Shortly after, Senan Finn headed home from another nicely floated Kelleher corner to extend Celtic’s lead. Despite being 2–0 down, Parkville stepped up their performance and looked dangerous attacking through the midfield, but they could not break down a Celtic back line that looked very solid throughout. Some great passing from the home team set Glen Cantwell free in the box, and a strong left-footed shot was neatly saved by the Parkville keeper, only for the ball to fall directly to Joshua Smithers O Connor to neatly finish just before the halftime whistle. Halftime score Burrin Celtic 3-0 Prkville United.
Burrin were always going to be hard to catch from that point, and when a corner ball was unfortunately deflected into the visitors net from a defenders leg with 20 minutes to go, the game was all but over. Glenn Cantwell wrapped up proceedings with a nice low finish off his left foot for Celtic to finish 5-0 winners.
In truth the scoreline did not reflect the Parkville performance or the quality that the visiting team possesses, and the early Celtic momentum probably made the biggest difference to how the game unraveled.
Well played both teams with a lot of ballers on both sides ;-)

An early brace from Timmy Jackson and a close-range finish from Kallan McCabe, put Slaney in control to lead 3-0 at half time.
After the break, Michael Griffin found McCabe unmarked at the back post and he rifled home, to complete his hat-trick and later on, a very calm, cool finish at the back post from Robbie Bowes rewarded the efforts of Will Darcy and Ella Corcoran. Final score Slaney 5-0 Burrin.
Burrin were well served by Liam Dowling and Padraig Hogan, who had shots on target but Thomas `mossie` Keane was having a stormer in the goals and kept Burrin out on numerous occasions.

St Fiaccs started the better of the 2 teams with some early chances and got the break through on the 19 minute with a ball through from Dylan Doyle to play Tommy Keating in for the finish. Very competitive first half which finished 1-0 to the home side..
Two minutes into the second half Tommy Keating repaid the favour and set up Dylan Doyle to make it 2-0 with a great team goal. St Anne’s started putting the pressure on and earned themselves a penalty kick with Jack Scully denying them from the spot with a great save. They eventually got their deserved goal on the 55 minute to make it 2-1. Then on the 60 minute with virtually the last kick of the game Jamie French stepped up with a free kick and curled home to make it a final score of 3-1 to St Fiaccs.

A wet morning in Ballon saw New Oak take the game to Burrin from the first minute with Siobhan Sinnott bossing the midfield for New Oak. Burrin never got going in the first half and couldn’t find a way through a resilient New Oak defence. When Burrin did decide to play a lovely move between
3-4 players around the box saw the ball passed to Lucy Kinsella and she coolly finished with her right foot. Five minutes later Erin Walker had the ball in the back of the net for New Oak after some poor defending from Burrin. H/T score Burrin 1-1 New Oak.
