MAJOR 1C USHER CELTIC 2, DRUMCONDRA FC 2
LEAGUE leaders Usher Celtic took on bottom of the table Drumcondra in their Major 1C clash but it was the basement side who edged in front after five minutes when Lorcan Dunne skipped past a couple of challenges before rifling to the back of the home side net.
Coming into the fixture Usher Celtic were undefeated and manager Gary Swan looked a little concerned on the sideline but Leon Nolan eased his worries when levelled with a brilliant finish to the net.
But just a minute later Drums had regained the initiative when Sean O’Connor got on the end of a through ball to find the back of the net as the visitors once again threatened a major upset.
Drums’ hopes then received a setback with an injury that forced their goalkeeper out of the game but the visitors’ replacement proved to be a great shot-stopper =-if at sometimes unorthodox
Usher were enjoying lots of possession but Drums defended resolutely until seven minutes from time when Keogh ghosted in to head home a tie the game up for a share of the spoils.
