HARVEY DOUBLE AS MCR GO NINE POINTS CLEAR IN SUPER LEAGUE

In the Sligo Southern Hotel Super League St Johns FC with an afternoon Kick Off welcomed league leaders MCR To Mac Sharry Park.

MCR fully aware of the morning results would be anxious to continue their unbeaten run would St Johns be the first to beat them in league competition this season.

The question was answered emphatically with Ciaran Harvey scoring the first two goals and Adam Devaney hitting the killer strike leaving them 9 points clear at the top of the leader board, still unbeaten the stamp of champions in the making.

 

Strand Celtic hosted Cliffoney Celtic on a windy and wet Friday evening in Strandhill. Strand had most of the possession early on and opened the scoring on the 18th minute thanks to a tidy Dylan Martin finish.

 

Strand continued to push, and it was that man again on the 35th minute with a fine strike into the top corner to double Strands lead. Just before half time Martin got his hat trick from the penalty spot after Niall McDermott was fouled in the box. Half Time Score: Strand Celtic 3 - 0 Cliffoney Celtic

 

The second half started as the first half finished with Strand continuing to apply the pressure. As conditions became worse, man of the match Dylan Martin got his 4th goal of the game early in the second half after a clever ball from Danny Gray Harrigan

. On the hour Leo Doherty got the fifth and late on Niall McDermott got the sixth and final goal of the game after a very well worked move. McDermott with the goal he deserved after putting in a solid shift. Final Score: Strand Celtic 6 Cliffoney Celtic 0.

 

Real Tubber and Arrow Harps played their fixture at the Astro in Ballisodare. Jason Kilkenny open the scoring for Arrow Harps after 25 minutes they held this lead until 5 minutes from the break and Tom Holton netted the equaliser. The second half found both defences in superb form and game finished Real Tubber 1 Arrow Harps 1.

 

Carbury FC with a Jason Lyons goal on 29 minutes took the lead in Mac Sharry Park against challengers Cartron Utd. Then on 34 minutes Rian Gorman received a red card leaving Carbury down to 10 men score at half time 1-0 to Carbury. Second half seen Tyler Stallard score twice for Carbury his first on 57 minutes and second 8 minutes from time final score 3-0.

 

Manor Rangers hosted Coolaney United in a 5-goal cracker of a game. Diarmuid Giblin with goals on 5- and 30-minutes giving Manor a 2-0 lead at the interval.

The second half was minutes old when Brian Mc Donald netted Manors 3rd goal and it looked game set and match. Coolaney United had different ideas when Cathal Davey scored twice first on 55 and second goal on 56 minutes that meant all-out attack for the remainder of the game but the Manor rear-guard stood solid final score Manor Rangers 3- 2 Coolaney Utd.

 

Ballisodare United keep moving in the right direction a gaol apiece from Stephen Fallon and Roly Anderson insured a massive 3 points from a very quiet Calry Bohs.

 

In the Sligo Pallets Premier League on Friday night Benbulben FC and Valley Rovers played an 8-goal thriller. Fola Ayorinde and Oisin Gilmartin each scored twice for Benbulben with Michael Gilmartin putting the cherry on the top for Benbulben. Valley Rovers with a double strike from Ciaran Jennings and a third Daniel Devine but up strong resistance but Benbulben had more fire power on the day.

 

Kilglass Enniscrone Utd played a 1-1 draw at home to Dromahair FC who took the lead on 88 minutes thanks to a strike from Jamie Clinton, but celebrations were short lived as 2 minutes later Robert Jacob hit a great equaliser that seen both sides share a point each.

Calry Bohs Reserves found the going tough at home Glenview Stars. Joe Kilcullen scored the only goal for Calry Bohs Reserves. Stars seen Clive Brennan score twice with Lucas Sosa adding the 3rd for another 3 points in the Stars bag.

 

Ballygawley Celtic and Chaffpool United played a game that seen more red cards then goals.

 As the game ended scoreless.

 

The best was saved till last League leaders Gurteen Celtic move 9 points clear at the top man of the match Dylan Walsh netting a hat trick and Billy Flynn adding goal number 4 for a team looking great for silverware this season. Matthew Miley netted the only goal for a battling Strand Celtic Reserves.

Wednesday night 15th Feb. In Rugantinos U18 Boys Calry Bohs proved just too strong for Kilglass Enniscrone Utd winning by 6 – 3. Eoin Stinchon with an excellent hat-trick and a goal each from Gavin Lynch, Rian O Callaghan and Noah Gregory seen Calry Bohs over the line. Kilglass Enniscrone Utd replied with a goal each from Michael and Thomas Sheridan with the 3rd goal netted by Matthew Langan.

 

 Thursday Night 16th Feb St Johns FC hit Boyle Celtic for 4 without reply/ Lucas Kromer with 2 goals, and a goal each from Dylan Kearins and Scott Cox earning St Johns 3 well deserved points.
