DROGS SIGN LEDDY ON LOAN FROM ROVERS

Drogheda United are delighted to announce the signing of forward Michael Leddy on loan from Shamrock Rovers.

An Irish underage international, Leddy joined Shamrock Rovers at the age of 14 and was named Academy Player of the Year for the Hoops in 2018.

The Drogheda born striker played at both U15 & U17 level in 2019 before making his senior debut as a 16-year-old in 2020 for Shamrock Rovers II in a 4-0 win away to Athlone Town.

He made ten First Division appearances in 2020, scoring once in a 2-1 defeat away to Galway United.

He remained a regular for Rovers U19 side in 2021 and 2022 before making his competitive debut for Stephen Bradley's first team in a 4-0 FAI Cup win against Bangor Celtic in July.

2022 also saw Leddy named in the matchday squad by Stephen Bradley for European games against Ferencváros, Gent and Hibernians, and score in a 1-1 draw against AZ Alkmaar in the UEFA Youth League.
