Parkville United AFC     0,   St Patrick’s Boys AFC      0,

Saturday 11 February 2023 Hawkins Lane Tullow (Parkville United)

On a fine morning in Tullow, Parkville and St Pat's served up a very entertaining game. Although the match finished scoreless there was plenty of action at both ends of the pitch. St Pats started the stronger of the two teams and after Parkville had weathered the early storm, they started to create chances of their own. The best chance of the half came from a dead ball when Danny Brennan hit a free kick which looked destined for the top corner until brilliantly headed away by the St Pat's defender. Halftime score 0-0.

The second half played out very much like the first with both defenses remaining on top. Parkville had the last chance of the game when the St Pat's keeper made a fantastic save to deny Josh Fitzpatrick to ensure the game finished 0-0.

Some fine individual performances on both side with Joe Waters, Jak Harvey and Phoenix Mullins impressing for Parkville.

A very tough encounter between two strong teams with an early New Oak goal enough to earn the three points for New Oak. They started the game on the front foot and made the early pressure count with their goal coming after a few minutes. Cretty then came into the game with some great football and Darragh Brennan with a great ball though for Aaron Brennan only to be denied by a great save from New Oaks keeper. Again Brennan was through and seemed to be taken down by the keeper but the decision was to play on. 1-0 at halftime.

Second half was very tight with neither team getting on top New Oak went down to 10 men but Cretty couldn’t get that goal that they deserved and New Oak took all 3 points with a 1-0 win.

The dominance continued and Bobby Finn got Burrin’s 2nd just before half time, after he beat the defence and keeper and slotted nicely into the corner. 2-0 to Burrin at the break.

The second half was pretty much a continuance of the first, with burrin keeping the ball but Kileshin denied chances numerous times. For the last 10 minutes the away side played a higher line and tried to pile the pressure on, but Daire Nolan and the rest of the Burrin defence kept it tidy at the back.
